Finishing Our Digipak

As the deadline for our digipak is on Friday 31st January, it is very important we finish this before the deadline in order for us to carry out audience feedback so we have time to improve the digipak. Therefore it is necessary for us to communicate between the group to ensure we are all able to work on the digipak so it will be completed.

Communication with our actress

To ensure we have a successful filming session, we communciate a lot with our actress and actor in our music video. Below are some screen shots of the communication in the form of text messages between Zara (playing Luna) and myself. We were communciating and sorting out the filming on November 24th 2013. We were sorting out the costumes we needed Zara to wear, consisting of casual clothing, and also the time we needed Zara to start filming.

Sleigh Bells

Our media teacher suggested we watch the Sleigh Bells – Comeback Kid, music video. As he believed this was a similar image we were hoping to achieve, along with similar editing. After watching it we felt that the editing was extremely good and something we would hope to do with our own music video. Also, we have taken inspiration from the studio shots and the shots when there is a lot of movement by the artist. When we filmed our trial shots we did not get our actress, Brooke, to dance/naturally move with the lyrics. Therefore, this resulted in a lack of energy in the shots. So when we filmed our studio shots with Zara, we asked her to move and use her arms and hands, what a lot of artists do in their music videos.

Communication with our actress

As we have recently asked Zara to be the actress in our music video, there has been a lot of communication between us and Zara to ensure she is confident with everything in regards to her role etc. We have discussed what the music video is about, the artist ‘Luna’, her style, her availability and costumes. Below are some screenshots of text messages between myself and Zara in regards to our music video.

Finalising Costumes

After filming our trial shots last week of the studio/performance aspect of the music video, we learnt that the black plain top and jeans were not bright enough to convey the character of Luna sufficiently. Therefore, we have come to the decision to include our actress, Zara, wearing multiple costumes throughout the course of the music video as this is a genre characteristic. Also, each of the costumes we want to be bright and to stand out. Thus, we have communicated with our actress to combine some of her own clothing with ours to reach our finalised costumes. Below are some images of some of the costumes Luna will be wearing. All of which are brightly coloured to contrast the white backdrop of the studio and also, we wanted to create a girly/edgy look for her. So we have included statement necklaces with each of the outfits to make this feature more apparent.
